Hey Hydro fam! We've got some exciting updates from the past two weeks to share with you. The team has been pushing forward on multiple fronts—tech, product, marketing, and community growth. Let’s jump in!

Tech/Product Updates

Hydro Plus:

MoonPay integration is done and dusted. We’ve also ironed out some bugs in the admin module, and staging prep is well underway. Things are moving along smoothly!

Migration 2.0:

Staging deployment for Migration 2.0 is complete. This was a big step in optimizing the platform, so it’s great to see it live.

Geyser Platform:

We’ve made substantial progress here. The platform now includes a referral system with rewards, tracking for social activities, and SUI staking. The admin module development is done, and QA is complete with bugs fixed. We’re currently in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase and we’re just waiting on the smart contract audit report. Instagram app verification is also being worked on.

Scaling Optimizations

We’ve onboarded new senior resources to optimize our database and mitigate bot activity. This work is currently in progress.

Cost Optimization:

We've initiated the shutdown of legacy infrastructure, focusing on optimizing Hydro's infrastructure based on recommendations from our AWS partner. These optimizations are expected to reduce our monthly costs by up to 25%.

Marketing Highlights

We've been making waves in the marketing world too:

  • Front Page of U.Today: Hydro was featured on the front page of U.Today! The article explores how we’re creating new ways to monetize online content without relying on traditional ads.
  • Hackernoon Interview: Our CEO, Reggie Jerath, had a deep dive with Hackernoon, where he laid out Hydro’s vision for ad-free content monetization. It's a good read if you want to understand what we’re all about.
  • Partnership with The Birdnest: We’ve teamed up with The Birdnest! This partnership is going to bring some exciting new opportunities for both of our communities.
  • Zealy Partnerships: Our Zealy partnerships have been a hit, bringing in 426 new members to the Hydro community in just two weeks.
  • UI/UX Design Improvements: We’ve also been working hard on the UI/UX design for the Geyser program. Our goal is to make the user experience as smooth and intuitive as possible.
  • X Account Hack: On August 14 our X account was targeted in a coordinated attack. We immediately took action, contacted support, and successfully regained control of our account in under 24 hours.

Social Media Growth

Our social media presence has been on the rise, thanks to all of you who engage with our content and spread the word. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • X/Twitter:
    • Impressions: We racked up 10,500 impressions in the past two weeks.
    • Engagement Rate: Our engagement rate hit 80.20%.
    • New Followers: We’ve gained 5,400 new followers, bringing our total to 152,600.
  • Instagram:
    • Account Reach: We reached 227 accounts, a 52.86% increase.
    • Engagement: Engagement is up by 61.54%.
    • Followers: Our follower count stands strong at 17,000.
  • Telegram:
    • Total Members: Our Telegram community has grown to 40,000 members.
    • Posting Members: Posting activity is up by 7.02%.
  • TikTok:
    • We’re starting to see some real traction on TikTok. Nearly 60% of our traffic is coming from organic searches, and video views have shot up by 184.2%.
  • LinkedIn:
    • Followers: We’ve reached 13,002 followers.
    • Reactions: Reactions to our posts are up by 116.7%.
    • Content Reach: Our content reached 434 people organically.
